Twins Lose Tight Game to Jamestown CC

On Sunday, Columbia-Greene CC Women's Soccer made the six hour journey to Jamestown CC in NJCAA Region III action. The Twins showed much improvement against the Jayhawks and created two quick scoring opportunities by striker Cendy Ordonez. Both shots were deflected and saved by the Jamestown keeper. The Jayhawks scored first in the twelth minute when a corner kick bounced around the Twins goalbox and was knocked in. The Twins defense settled in and the first half ended 1-0. The Twins came out firing in the second half but couldn't find the back of the net. Jamestown scored again in the sixty-fifth minute with a blast just inside the Twins goal post. In the eighty-sixth minute, Twins midfielder Amelia McDonald cut the score in half with a well placed freekick in the upper corner of the Jayhawks goal. Both teams traded possession of the ball for the remainder of the game and Jamestown finished with a 2-1 victory.

Goal Keeper Laura Christman had 11 saves on 13 shots on goal.

The Twins play at home against Herkimer CC on Wednesday 9/8 at 4pm.
