Tanisha Edge. 1,000 Point ceremony.
Women’s Basketball Remains Undefeated at Home

The Twins women's basketball team had two home games over the weekend.  Prior to Saturday's home game the Twins held a ceremony celebrating Tanisha Edge for reaching 1,000 career points as a Twin.  Columbia-Greene Community College presented her with a game ball that had the date of this accomplishment etched on it.  The celebration included cupcakes that spelled out 1,000.

The Twins took on the Clinton Community College Cougars after the celebration.  This is the Twins second time facing the Cougars this season.  The first time they met, the Twins cruised to victory.  It was much of the same this time around.  The Twins jumped out to an early 28 – 11 lead in the first quarter.  They continued the high scoring to get the victory and finish the game with 113 points scored.  Leading the Twins was Freshman Daniella Weinschreider with 22 points scored three assists and two steals.  Sophomore Tanisha Edge scored 21 points and neared a double-double with nine steals and six assists.  Freshman Casiris Ruiz scored 15 points with five steals and four assists.  Freshman Britney Brazela also contributed 14 points and six rebounds. The Twins gained some confidence going into Sundays matchup against the North Country Community College Saints.

This was the Twins second time taking on North Country.  The Saints got the best of the Twins last time these two teams met.  That victory snapped the Twins nine-game win streak at the time.  The Twins looked to get that one back on Sunday.

The Twins started out strong with 21 points to the Saints 11 points in the first quarter.  They would take the lead into the locker room at halftime, 40 – 28.  The Saints stayed close throughout the second half, but the Twins ultimately got the victory, 75 – 62.  Standout Sophomore Tanisha Edge was the leading scorer for the Twins with 25 points and eight assists. Freshman Daniella Weinschrieder had another high scoring game with 15 points scored.  Sophomore All'aha Albright completed a double-double with 13 points scored and 13 rebounds.  This is her second double-double of the season.

Their next matchup will be against nearby rivals Hudson Valley Community College.  The game will take place on February 14th at Hudson Valley.  The women's game will kick off at 5 pm and the men's game will follow at 7 pm.
