Twins Women's Basketball
Winning Weekend for Twins Basketball

The women tipped off their last home game before the new year on Saturday.  They took on the Jefferson Community College Cannoneers in the afternoon game.  The Twins shot their way to a lead in the first quarter scoring 23 points to Jefferson's 19 points.  The Cannoneers would catch up though and the Twins lead stood at just one going into halftime, 42 – 41.  A tough fought third quarter saw no ground gained by either side.  It was the fourth quarter that Twins pulled away with it after holding Jefferson to only eight points in the fourth quarter.  The Twins get their seventh win of the season by a score of 74 – 63.  Freshman Anyla Harper was the leading scorer for the Twins with a double-double scoring 27 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.  Sophomore Tanisha Edge scored 17 points and recorded nine assists and six steals.  Freshman Selena Jones contributed 11 points and Sophomore Tori Popp contributed 9 points.  The Twins will finish out the year with three road games. The first being at Schenectady County Community College on Tuesday December 5th.  The women play at 5 pm and the men tip off at 7 pm.
