Twins Tackle Two Game Road Trip

Twins basketball took on Cayuga Community College and Onondaga Community College in a two-game road trip this past weekend.  First up were the Spartans of Cayuga Community College.  The game began with a close first quarter as the Twins led 18 – 16.  Another high scoring effort from Tanisha Edge would push the Twins offense to victory once again by a score of 69 – 55. The Twins ride a six game win streak going into Sundays game.  Sophomore Tanisha Edge scored 36 points in the victory.  She shot 64% from the field and 45% from the three-point line.  Edge also recorded six assists, five rebounds, and four steals.  Freshman Selena Jones had her highest scoring game of the season shooting 53% for 18 points along with five rebounds and two assists.  Sophomore All'aha Albright contributed six points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the win.

The Twins looked to keep their streak alive Sunday when they took on the Onondaga Community College Lazers.  They started the game behind after scoring only 19 points in the first half.  Despite a pickup of offense in the second half, the Lazers would stop the Twins winning streak.  The Twins fall by a final score of 70 – 56.  Freshman Selena Jones had another impressive game scoring a season high 23 points with eight rebounds and three steals.  Sophomore Tanisha Edge continues her success scoring 17 points with eight assists, seven rebounds, and six steals.  The Twins split the weekend and are 6 – 2 so far, this season.

They will look to get back on track when they face Jefferson Community College at home December 2nd.  The women's game begins at 1 pm and the men's follows at 3 pm.
