 Strong Offense Leads Twins to a Pair of Wins

 

The Basics

Game 1
Score: Twins 2, Hawks 1

Records: Twins 9-5 Overall, 2-2 MVCC| Hawks 4-6 Overall, 4-2 MVCC

The Lead: The Twins opened the doubleheader with a 2-1 win.

 

How it Happened:

 

  • The first two innings remained scoreless as both teams battled to put runs on the board. It wasn't until the third when the Twins stepped up to the plate and drove in one run off an RBI by Kaylee Hoffman scoring in Baylee Cox to take the lead 1-0, Twins.

  • The Twins kept the Hawks scoreless, driving in another run in the fifth inning advancing the score 2-1, Twins.

  • Kaylee Hoffman was credited the win for the Twins with three strikeouts, allowing only one earned run finishing the game 2-1, Twins.

Records: Twins 9-5 Overall, 2-2 MVCC| Hawks 4-6 Overall, 4-2 MVCC

The Lead: Twins sweep the doubleheader with a 5-4 win in game two.

 

How it Happened:

 

  • The Twins set the tone for game two scoring early and often. Justine Albin hit an RBI in the first inning scoring in Holly Kleinmeier. The Hawks answered back putting up a run of their own on the board making it 1-1.
  • In the second inning Jenna Poulsen hit two RBI's driving in Claire Filak and Hannah Mayin, taking the lead 3-1.
  • The Hawks came out strong in the fourth inning adding three more runs to the board keeping the Twins scoreless. It wasn't until the fifth and seventh innings where the Twins fired back putting up two more runs on the board to finish the game 5-4, Twins.
  • Claire Filak won game two for the Twins with two strikeouts, allowing only four runs.
