Twins Season Ends on the Road

The Twins basketball team took on the North Country Community College Saints in the opening round of the NJCAA Region III Playoffs. The Twins come in as the underdogs with the #9 seed in the tournament. However, the Saints are ranked just above them with the #8 seed. The Twins battled the Saints twice during the regular season, coming out with one win and one loss. Both these games came earlier this month.

The Saints defense put the pressure on the Twins from the very beginning. The Twins could find just small spurts of offense in the first half. They would be down ten at halftime, 38-28. The Twins continued to struggle in the second half. The Saint's lead grew throughout the half as they cruised to victory. The Twins ultimately fell to the Saints by a final of 83-61. While the Twins season comes to an end, the Saints will take on the Mohawk Valley Hawks in the second round of the NJCAA Region III Playoffs.

Twins sophomore Cameron Thomas led the team in scoring with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Thomas finished the season with 16 straight games reaching a double-double. Sophomore Myles Ukoh scored 16 points with 3 blocks. Sophomore Zach Hedgepeth scored 14 points with six assists in the loss. The Twins finished their season with a 9-18 overall record. They struggled towards the end, losing their last five games of the season. The Twins fall in the opening round of the playoffs for the second year in a row.
