Thomas Named Region III Athlete of the Week
Sophomore men's basketball player Cameron Thomas earned NJCAA Region III Athlete of the Week honors for his efforts last week. This is the first time this season that a men's basketball player has received this honor. It comes after the Twins and Thomas played three close games.
Cameron Thomas was the Twin's leading scorer in each matchup this past week, reaching a double-double in each one. First against Clinton Community College, he finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Then against Herkimer College, Thomas had his highest scoring effort of the season. He finished this matchup with 23 points, 18 rebounds, and five steals. He finished off the week with another high scoring effort against SUNY Adirondack. Thomas picked up 22 points and 19 rebounds in the Twins victory.
Thomas has been on fire to start the new year, averaging 19 points per game and nearly 18 rebounds per game. He has emerged as a leader of this Twins team in the second half of their season. We congratulate Cameron Thomas on a much-deserved Athlete of the Week Award!
