Twins End Drought with Win Over Timberwolves

The Twins played Saturday morning, hoping to avoid the winter weather hitting the area that night. They battled against the SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves at home. The Twins have lost their last six games heading into this matchup. The Timberwolves were still looking for their first win of the season.

Baskets didn't come easy for the Twins in the early minutes. However, both teams were able to keep it tight throughout the first half. The Twins would be down to start the second half, 41-39. They struggled to open the second. Many missed shots let the Timberwolves take a commanding lead, up by 12 points five minutes into the half. The Twins quickly regathered and found their rhythm to tie the game back up. Two big three-pointers from Zach Hedgepeth gave the Twins the lead and the momentum with under four minutes remaining. The Timberwolves would not go down easily though, making it a one-point game with just seconds to go. The buzzer beater would not fall for them as the Twins narrowly take the win, 81-80.

Leading the Twins was Sophomore Cameron Thomas, who finished with a double-double of 22 points and 19 rebounds. Sophomore Zach Hedgepeth also scored 22 points and led the team in steals with three. Freshman Jason Davis reached a double-double for the third time this season recording 11 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Kaijah Rodgers finished with seven points and 13 assists.

The next game for the Twins comes on the road January 22nd. They will travel to Fultom-Montgomery for a 7 pm matchup against the Raiders.
