Twins Drop Hard Fought Contest to #6 Delhi

The Columbia-Greene CC men's basketball team lost to SUNY Delhi last night 57-51.  Defense was the theme for last night's contest.  Delhi came into the game as the best defensive team in Region 3, only giving up 55 points per game, while the Twins are #7 in the Region giving up 67 points per game.  The Twins saw themselves down 12-3 with 11 minutes to go in the first half and then turned up the heat and only gave up 2 points over the next 7:30 minutes.  During that same stretch, the Twins would take a 2 point lead, 16-14.  After a back and forth, the Twins went into halftime down by 2, 24-22. 

The second half was no different.  The game seesawed back and forth but with 10 minutes left the Cagers from Columbia-Greene found themselves in a 12 point hole, 43-31.  The Twins battled back and just over 3 minutes later, the score was back down to a 5 point lead for Delhi.  The Twins would get as close as 1 point, 50-49, with 1:24 remaining before Delhi would get to the line and make their next 7 free throws to ice the game. 

The Twins take on Clinton CC on Sunday at 2pm.  This is the last game of the season for the men's basketball team.
