Twins Fall to #6 Herkimer

The Twins fell to Herkimer County Community College, 66-48.  The Twins started the first half working on all cylinders.  Good ball movement and defensive intensity were what led to the Twins taking several leads leading during the first 8 minutes of the game.  With the score tied 19-19 with 7 minutes left in the half, the Twins went cold and could only muster 2 more points the rest of the way.  The Generals' zone defense slowed the attack, leading to a 28-21 lead at the half for the visitors.

Columbia-Greene would keep fighting, but could not keep pace in the second half.  Herkimer held a double digit lead with 15 minutes remaining and the Twins were only able to close the gap to 11 points the rest of the way.  "I was happy with our effort.  They are the #6 team in the country for a reason.  They have great size and a lot of different weapons," Coach Rickard said.  "We had some great flashes but were not able to capitalize."

Columbia-Greene was led by Khalil Paul who finished with 10 points, followed by Dienet Saint Jean who contributed 9 points and 9 rebounds.

The Twins travel to Fulton-Montgomery CC on Thursday for a Region III battle starting at 6pm.
