Twins Fall in Home Opener to Herkimer

After a two year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, CGCC Baseball is back! The Twins opened their 2021-22 spring season at home on Tuesday April 5th against the Herkimer Generals.

 

Richard Parks got the ball for game one of the double header and would go on to pitch the entire five inning game. The Twins would fight to keep the game close, keep the game to a 5-0 deficit through four innings. A big fifth inning for the Generals would secure them the win over the Twins. Kasey Moore would lead the team at the plate, going 2-3 with 2 hits. Matt Damon would collect another hit going 1-3 at the plate. Richard Parks would throw five innings striking out 2 batters. 

 

Camden Redstone got the ball for game two of the double header. Game two started out close with the Generals taking 5-2 lead in the first inning. The Twins would however be held scoreless the rest of the game with a rough 4th inning giving the Generals the win. Despite the loss, many Twins stood out at the plate. Matt Damon was 1-3 with 1 hit and 1 run scored. Joel Preusser was 1-2 with 1 hit. Jake Siter collected 1 rbi. Matt Bowes was 2-3 with 2 hits. Kasey Moore led the team again in game two going 3-3 at the plate with 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple, 1 run, and 1 rbi! Camden Redstone threw 3.2 innings followed by Matt Bowes who threw 1.1 innings and had 1 strikout

 

The Twins will travel to Herkimer Community College on Tuesday 4/12! First game starts at 2pm with the second game starting at 4pm!
