Twins Drop Third Straight
The Twins have struggled of late and hoped to turn that around against the Jefferson Community College Cannoneers. This was the third road game in a row for the Twins. They have struggled, receiving losses in their last two games. The Cannoneers came into this game with just a 1-9 record. Their only win coming at Tompkins Cortland Community College.
The Twins got off to a slow start as they fell to a 14-4 hole in the early minutes of the game. They would eventually begin a comeback in the first half. Towards the last minutes of the first half, the Twins brought the score to within two, 29-27. The Twins however went into halftime trailing 37-28. This was the lowest scoring half for the Twins this season. The Twins have averaged 42 points a half this season but reach just 28 in the first half at the Cannoneers.
They would come out with a hunger to get this game back in reach in the second half. The Twins would eventually make it a one-point game, 42-41, early in the second half. However, this wouldn't last long as the Twins struggled to stop the Cannoneers offense. Jefferson Community College cruises through the Twins by a final score of 80-65.
Leading scorer for the Twins was freshman Cameron Thomas with a double-double reaching 15 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Nine of those rebounds coming on the offensive end. Sophomore Jihadu Brunner-Brown reached his second double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Brunner-Brown also picked up four assists. Sophomore Michael Alert had a well rounded game with 13 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals. Freshman Myles Ukoh also reached a double-double with his career high 11 points and 10 blocks. He came up just short of the triple-double with nine rebounds.
The Twins will play one more game on the road before returning for a home game. Their next game will be at Schenectady County Community College Tuesday December 4th. The Twins will take on the Royals at 7 pm.
