Fitness Center Policy

1. The Fitness Center is open to all CGCC students and employees who meet the college's vaccination requirements.

2. You must sign in and out each time you use the facility.

3. Use of the facility is during the scheduled hours posted only. Unauthorized use during off hours will result in loss of privileges.

4. Please respect everyone that is in the fitness center.

5. Weight are to be moved from the rack to the bar only. Do not set them on floor or lean them against the walls or equipment.

6. You must spray with disinfectant and wipe down equipment after use.

7. Food, drink, gum, tobacco and toothpicks are not permitted in the fitness center. Water only in secured top container.

8. Use the equipment only for its intended purpose.

9. Swearing, spitting, or defacing the facility is not tolerated.

10. Proper exercise attire only. Shirts are to be worn at all times. Sneakers only. Zippers need to be covered so they don't tear pads and benches.

11. Collars are required once there is more than one plate on the end of the bar.

12. A spotter is required for every set after initial warm-up set when using the bench press. Otherwise the safety must be properly set for all other equipment.

13. Appropriate fitness attire must be worn.

14. No bags, coats, or personal items are permitted in the Fitness Center. Valuables should be secured in a locker in the locker next to the fitness center. Lockers can be obtained through the Athletic Department. Staff is not responsible for holding personal items.

15. Report any personal injury or damaged/malfunctioning equipment to the Fitness Center staff.

16. Please do not drop weights or bang dumbbells together.

17. Strip all bars immediately after use and return dumbbells to the rack in the proper order.

18. Horseplay will not be tolerated.
