Twins Basketball. Vs Clinton CC. 2-15
Men's Basketball Battles Over Weekend

The Twins men's basketball team had a weekend full of games this past weekend.  On Saturday they took on the Clinton Community College Cougars.

This was the second meeting between the Twins and the Cougars.  The first time they met, the Twins took the victory by almost 20 points.  This game was much closer however.  The Twins had some trouble in the first half due to a short bench and would go into halftime down 46 – 41.  Their scoring caught fire in the second half scoring 52 points in the half.  The Twins completed the comeback to win by four points, 93 – 89.  Freshman Jacorey Nixon achieved a double-double scoring a season high 32 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.  This was Nixon's first double-double of the season.  Freshman Donavan Williams also scored a season high 20 points with six assists.  Freshman Rayquan Bryant continues to score big with 19 points and six rebounds.  Sophomore Jordan Wright contributed 14 points and eight assists.  The Twins looked to take this energy into Sundays game against the North Country Community College Saints.

After Saturdays victory the Twins returned to their home court to take on the North Country Saints for the second time this season.  The first time the two teams met, the Twins were defeated by over 10 points.  The Twins looked to get that one back on Sunday.  Both teams struggle to score early in the game.  The Twins scored only 29 points in the first half.  They went down at halftime 36 – 29.  The second half was much different as both teams found their rhythm.  The Twins mounted a comeback, but the Saints 67 second half points were too much.  The Twins ultimately fell 103 – 76.  Freshman Rayquan Bryant reached his fourth double-double of the season.  Bryant scored 28 points and picked up 12 rebounds.  Freshman Jacorey Nixon also reached a double-double for the second game in a row.  Nixon scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds with seven assists.  Freshman Donavan Williams contributed 20 points and five rebounds.

The Twins will be back on the court Wednesday February 14th when they travel to Hudson Valley Community College to take on the Vikings.  The women's game will begin at 5 pm with the men's game following at 7 pm.
