Twins Basketball
Men’s Basketball goes 1 – 1 over weekend

The Twins men's basketball team played two games over the weekend.  They looked to defend their court in back to back home games.  First up was the SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves.  It was a close one right out of the gate.  The Twins took the early lead but not by much as the Timberwolves kept it close.  They would go in to the half leading over the Timberwolves, 43 – 38.  Both teams had a storm of baskets in the second half with each team scoring at least 50 points.  The Timberwolves brought it to within two points but the Twins scoring led by Jordan Wright was too much in the end.  The Twins win a close one by a final score of 94 – 88.  Sophomore Jordan Wright led the way for the Twins with 30 points, four assists, and two steals.  Freshman Jacorey Nixon scored a season high 24 points with six rebounds and three assists.  Freshman Rayquan Bryant achieved his first double-double of the season with 12 points and and 11 rebounds.  Freshman Jahrice Ballard also contributed 14 points and six rebounds in the win.  The Twins would return on Sunday to take on the Tompkins-Cortland Community College Panthers.

The Twins didn't have much time to celebrate their last victory before taking on the Panthers in the Sunday afternoon game.  Taking the lead in the beginning of the contest were the Twins.  They stretched the lead to over 15 points going into halftime.  Poor offense would plague the Twins the second half however.  The Twins scored only 21 points in the second half to let the Panthers back into the game.  It came down to the wire, but the Panthers overcame the deficit to defeat the Twins 69 – 63.  Freshman Jacorey Nixon led the Twins in scoring with 17 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Freshman Rayquan Bryant scored 14 points with six rebounds.  Jordan Wright scored 11 points with four rebounds and Donovan Williams scored 10 points with four rebounds and three assists.  The Twins have a couple of days before they take the court again.  They will travel to Fulton-Montgomery Community College to take on the Raiders Wednesday January 24th.  The women's game starts at 5 pm with the men's game starting at 7 pm.
