Twins Earn First Win of New Year

The Twins men's basketball team took on the Hudson Valley Community College Vikings in their first game of the new year.  They looked to take advantage of the Vikings short bench to get a good start to the second half of the season.  They came out hot scoring 42 points in the first half.  Another 43 points in the second half sealed the victory.  The Twins won by a final score of 85 – 76.  This is a good look for the Twins after going 0 – 2 against the Vikings last season.  Freshman Rayquan Bryant led the scoring for the Twins with 20 points and four rebounds.  Sophomore Matthew Smith scored 17 points and had six rebounds and four steals.  Sophomore Jordan Wright dished out 10 assists and grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double.  He was just four points shy of a triple-double with his six points.  Freshman Jacorey Nixon scored 13 points and Jahrice Ballard scored 12 points.  The Twins next contest will be against Herkimer Community College at home on January 18.  The women's game starts at 5 pm with the men's game right after that at 7 pm.
