Twins Win Two Over Weekend

The men's basketball team went on the road this weekend to face SUNY Adirondack and Tompkins-Cortland Community College.  On Saturday they took on the SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves for the first time this season.  The Twins took a strong lead in the first half leading by fifteen, with a score of 40 – 25.  The Twins were outscored in the second half but held on to win by a final score of 73 – 66.  The leading scorer for the Twins was Josiah McCall with 21 points and nine rebounds.  Sophomore Christopher Kidd got a double – double scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.  Tydrea Rodriguez also got a double – double as he scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.  Sophomore Travis Hamilton contributed 12 points, eight rebounds, and a season high seven blocks.

The next day, the Twins traveled to Dryden, NY to take on the Tompkins Cortland Community College Panthers.  The Twins got off to a nice start coming off the win from the night before going up 13 – 6 early in the first half.  The Panthers would stay tight with the Twins though and the Twins were down at the half 32 – 31.  The Twins got the lead back quickly at the start of the second half.  The two teams would battle, keeping the score close throughout the half.  The Twins stayed resilient and came away with the victory by a final score of 72 – 65.  The leading scorer for the Twins was Christopher Kidd who got his fourth double – double in a row scoring 23 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.  Freshman Josiah McCall scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds.  Freshman Jordan Wright scored 15 points, had nine assists, and grabbed seven rebounds.  Freshman Matthew Smith contributed 10 points.  The Twins take on the Fulton-Montgomery Community College Wednesday January 25th at 8pm at home.
