Men’s Basketball Falls Short in Exciting Championship Game

The men's basketball team took on SUNY Orange in the Goldberg Classic championship game this past Saturday.  SUNY Orange took a commanding lead by scoring 45 points in the first half to lead the Twins 45 – 28 at halftime.  The Twins came out strong in the second half scoring 48 points and going on an 11 -1  run to comeback.  The Twins ultimately fell by a heartbreaking two points in the end, 78 – 76.  Josiah McCall led the Twins with 15 points, nine rebounds, and four steals.  Mikeal Simon had 14 points, five steals, and three assists.  Tydrea Rodriguez scored 13 points with, four rebounds, four assists and two steals.  Gary Buxton had 11 points, six rebounds, and five assists.  Matthew Smith contributed 10 points and three steals.  Twins sophomore guard, Tydrea Rodriguez, was named to the Goldberg Classic men's all-tournament team.  The team continues their season at SUNY Broome Tuesday, November 15th at 8pm.
