Twins Fall in Season Opener

The women's basketball team began their season yesterday when they traveled to Mohawk Valley Community College.  The team fell to the #3 nationally ranked Hawks in a close one, 47 – 39.  Freshman Tanisha Edge was the leading scorer for the Twins with 13 points.  Edge also had five rebounds and two steals by the end of the night.  Freshman All'aha Albright also contributed eight points and six rebounds, while freshman Stacey Cherestal contributed six points.  The Twins take on Finger Lakes Community College at 1pm Saturday November 5th in their highly anticipated home opener.

Columbia-Greene's men's basketball struggled against the Mohawk Valley Community College Hawks in a season opening 91 – 62 loss.  Freshman Josiah McCall was the leading scorer for the Twins, with 18 points.  Fellow freshman Mikeal Simon was able to net two three-pointers in the first half and finished the game with eight points on six shots and four assists.  Other contributors include sophomore Gary Buxton who scored seven points and freshman Jordan Wright who finished the night with six points and four assists. Twins men's basketball continues their season November 5th against Finger Lakes Community College in their much anticipated home opener.  The men hit the court with a start time at 3pm, while the women's program makes their home debut at 1pm.
