Hoose Leads Twins in Victory Over Hawks

After two losses to Region 3 opponents, North Country CC and SUNY Delhi, the Twins came up with a great win against Mohawk Valley CC, 74-58, in a Region 3 contest last night in the College Gymnasium.

Jordan Hoose led the Twins in the first haf with 12 points, but the team struggled with foul trouble early on.  There were several lead changes in the half, but Mohawk Valley entered halftime with the biggest lead on the night, 32-28.

The second half was all Twins.  In the first several minutes both teams went basket for basket. The Hawks increased their lead to five points and then the Twins made their run.  The Twins would push their lead to 13 points at the 12 minute mark and never relinquished their double digit lead the rest of the way.  Hoose led all scorers with 25 points and also hauled down 19 rebounds. Tydrea Rodriguez scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half.  "Jordan and Tydrea played very well tonight, but the effort and cotributions we got from all the guys tonight was fantastic," said head coach Walter Rickard. "We played for a full forty minutes, which we have not been able to do the previous two games.  It was a fun game to watch and coach."

The Twins improved their record to 12-11 overall, 8-11 Region 3 and 6-6 MVC.

The Twins travel to Clinton CC for another Region 3 matchup on Saturday.  Tip-off is 2pm.
