Proper Receives Athlete of the Week Honors

Twins baseball player Phillip Proper was awarded NJCAA Region III Athlete of the Week for his performances last week.  The Twins traveled to Myrtle Beach, S.C. this past week to spend their spring break playing baseball at the Ripken Experience.  Proper was handed the ball to start the Twins first game of the season taking on Illinois Valley Community College.  Flying through Illinois Valley's line-up, Proper led the Twins to a victory on opening day.  The freshman pitched six scoreless innings allowing zero runs and only two hits as the Twins won 2 - 0.  Proper also struck out five and walked  only two. Then in the Twins last game of the week, Phillip came in relief for one inning.  He shut out Camden County College in the sixth inning. Allowing no runs, no hits, and walking only one. His performances in last weeks games got him NJCAA Region III Athlete of the Week honors for the first time this season. Congratulations Phillip Proper!
