Baseball Drops Road Games to Adirondack

The C-GCC Twins Baseball team traveled to SUNY Adirondack this past Saturday in a conference doubleheader at on the Timberwolves field. The Twins fell short both games by the scores of 10-6 and 12-8.  

Game one of the day, SUNY Adirondack put up runs in the bottom of the second inning to give the Twins a 6-0 deficit. Anthony Eaton and Jon Mueller sparked the Timberwolves offense both grabbing singles to the outfield that scored the first to runs of the game. Jordyn Schwark had a big bat as he added to the score with a three-run homer to left field. 

The Twins attempted to bounce back by getting players on base but only scored one run after Collin Lynk singled to left field allowing Mercury Mason to cross the plate. The bottom of the third ended with the Timberwolves knocking in a Solo shot to deep left field, making the score 7-1. 

The top of the fourth inning is where the Twins bats heated up as they lowered the deficit to 7-6. The rally started with two outs as Joe Murray reached first base on a walk and Jeremiah Williams was hit by a pitch. Alec Reeves came to bat and was able to score Murray on a single to right field. Mason singled to shortstop allowing Williams to score and move Reeves to third base. Noah Ernst was able to grab a single and score Reeves. Collin Lynk took a walk, moving Mason to third and Ernst to second. Jesse DelVescovo continued the Twins effort by smacking the ball to the outfield that platted Mason and Ernst before the inning ended. 

The score remanded 6-7 until the bottom of the sixth inning when Adirondack pulled away from the Twins and scored three runs, 10-6. 

Adirondack retired the side as all three Twins put the ball in play but were unable to get on base. 

Game two, the Twins got on the board in the first inning as Collin Lynk put the ball in play to score Mercury Mason. SUNY Adirondack answered back with six runs to make it a 6-1. 

C-GCC wasn't ready to give up yet with a lot of play left as Jeremiah Williams doubled to right field to score Alan Smith. Mercury Mason was able to get a sacrifice fly that allowed Williams to cross the plate. The Twins lowered their deficit to 6-4. 

The Timberwolves only grabbed one run in bottom of the second making it a 7-4 game. Both teams stayed scoreless up until the bottom of the fifth inning when the Timberwolves scored three runs to make it 10-4.

Alec Reeves singled to right field in the sixth inning to score Juan Trillo in attempt to cut the score down but the Timberwolves answered back with two runs making the game 12-5.

In the last attempt to make a comeback, the Twins started the top of the seventh inning off with the bats ready to go. Both Collin Lynk and Jesse DelVescovo singled to left field. Alan Smith reached on error allowing Lynk to score. Juan Trillo grabbed a hit, putting the ball to left field that scored Delvescovo and Smith. The Twins left the score at 12-8 after SUNY Adirondack grabbed the last out to stop the rally and take the win.
