Baseball Takes their First Sweep of the Season

Twins take two yesterday evening against Jefferson CC. Game one was a 3 to 1 victory and game two was a close 8 to 7 victory. 

Game 1

Twins found a spark with their bats to take a 3 to 1 victory in seven innings over Jefferson Community College yesterday evening at home.

Reeves singled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning. Noah Ernst was a powerhouse on the hill, capturing the win for the Twins. Ernst allowed one earned run, five hits, two walks, and struck out three batters.

Jefferson attempted a comeback but was only able to push one across the plate in the third inning. The Twins kept their lead after scoring two runs in the third off a deep solo home run by Ernst and a RBI single by Collin Lynk.

Game 2

Columbia-Greene Community College hung on to a close game to capture the win and sweep away Jefferson Community College with an 8 to 7 victory.

Mercury Mason walked in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning to edge over the Twins for the win. Collin Lynk singled to get on base in the seventh. He was moved over to third off a single by Juan Trillo. Mason then collected the walk that sent in Lynk to secure the game.

Noah Ernst racked up three RBIs on two hits. He doubled in the fifth inning and sent a bomb over the fence in the sixth inning.

Alan Smith snagged the win on the mound as a relief for the Twins in 2 1/3 innings only allowing one run.

Jefferson put up a tough fight only tailing by one run in each of the third, fifth, and sixth inning.

The Twins Baseball team stayed tough throughout the game to pull through for the win.

Baseball plays next on Thursday, April 21st away at Jefferson CC with first pitch at 2 PM.
