Twins Baseball Splits with Ulster

Yesterday Twins Baseball faced Ulster County Community College and pulled away with a win in game two. Below are the game recaps.

Game 1: Twins 5 Ulster 12

The Twins struggled to gain control in game one against Ulster County CC. Ulster pulled away with the lead late in the game to take the win. 

Noah Ernst racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Twins. In the fifth inning he took the ball deep for his first collegiate home run. 

Joe Murray gets the loss for Twins pitching allowing eight runs in 4 2/3 innings, walking four and striking out three. 

The Twins made an attempt to diminish Ulster's lead, pushing across four runs in the fifth inning only to make it an 8 to 4 deficit. An RBI single by Mike Bowes and a three-run home run by Ernst created the Twins' rally. Unfortunately for the Twins, Ulster added more runs to their score to pull the lead away. 

In the bottom of the seventh, one run crossed the plate off Ernst's RBI single making the score 12 to 5. 

Game 2: Twins 8 Ulster 4

Twins take game two against Ulster with the score of 8 to 4.

Mike Bowes went 2-3 with a single in the first and a double in the fifth inning.

Noah Ernst pitched lights out for the Twins. Ernst held Ulster hitless over three innings allowing no earned runs, one walk, and three strikeouts.

After Ulster scored a few runs in the top of the second taking the lead 4 to 0, C-GCC fought back to keep the lead for the rest of the game. The Twins scored four runs in the fifth inning off of two doubles and RBI single by Ernst. Three more runs were added on in the bottom of the sixth for the Twins. One of those runs came from Immanuel Folds who had a single that brought in Dylan Snow

The Twins Baseball team plays next Tuesday April 5th at home starting at 2 and 4 pm.
