Twins Fall to Corning CC in Midweek Series

The Twins spent two days of their spring break at Corning Community College to come up short in all four games. Below are the recaps for the Twins.

 

TWINS SUFFER A LOSS AFTER EARLY LEAD

The Twins came out with a big bat in the first inning, but lost 7-4 to Corning Community College on Tuesday's first game of two.  

Mitch Black went deep with a grand slam scoring Jesse DelVescovo, Collin Lynk, and Joe Murray to give the Twins the lead in the second inning.

Joe Murray was the starting pitcher for the Twins. Murray went five innings, allowing only five hits and striking out four batters.  Mitch Howe gets the loss for the Twins as he pitched for a third of an inning.

TWINS DROP TO CORNING'S LATE GAME RALLY

Game two of Tuesday was decided in the sixth inning after Corning CC rallied to take the lead and win 6 to 3.

Colin Lynk singled to bring in Alec Reeves in the top of the third to put CGCC on the board. Alec Reeves singled in the seventh inning to score a run. Mike Bowes took the loss for Twins on the mound after pitching six-innings. Bowes only walked two and had seven strikeouts.

The Twins scored two runs in the seventh in an attempt to comeback but fell short.

DAY TWO ON ROAD, TWINS FALL TO CORNING CC

The Twins bats couldn't find any holes in the first game of two on Wednesday giving Corning the win with a score of 8 to 0.

Alan Smith, Mitch Black, Mercury Mason, and Scott Merritt all collected a hit.

Justin Maldonado takes the loss on the mound after pitching four-innings. Dylan Snow and Mitch Howe each pitched an inning.

TWINS FINISH TWO DAY TRIP WITH A LOSS

The Twins fall short again to Corning with a 3 to 0 score.

Mike Bowes and Justin Maldonado record the only two hits of the game.

Alec Reeves takes the loss on the mound after six-innings of pitching. Reeves only allowed six hits and struck out three.
