Jacobsen Named Division III National Player of the Week
Sophomore baseball player Mike Jacobsen has been named Division III National Player of the Week. Along with National Player of the week, Jacobsen was named the Region III Athlete of the Week for the second time this season. Jacobsen pitched a complete game against Schenectady CCC on April 13th, allowing only 3 hits, in a 6-0 win. That puts his ERA at 1.01 on the season. At the plate, Jacobsen was 11-15(.733) with two doubles and seven RBI. His batting average has jumped up to .447.
To put this in perspective, Jacobsen was picked from a pool of 81 schools, which includes almost 1,000 players in Division III baseball.
