Werner Named to Second Team All-Region

This past weekend was the Region III Championships for men's and women's track and field. Sophomore Riley Werner was the lone competitor for the women's team. She finished third in the 1500-meter race last season and was looking to up her game this year. She did just that, finishing in second place in the 800-meter race. She finished with a time of 2:45.33. This was her best time of the season in the 800-meters. This gained her Second Team All-Region honors for Region III! This is the first time she has earned this honor after coming just short last season. Later in the meet, Riley placed sixth in the 400-meter race to score a total of nine points for her team.

We congratulate Werner on receiving this honor. Riley Werner will be competing at the NJCAA Division III National Meet coming up on May 10^th. We wish her the best of luck as she continues to train for that meet.
