Twins Run Tough at the Bronco Classic

The men's and women's track and field teams traveled to SUNY Delhi to compete in the annual Bronco Classic this past Saturday.  Four runners represented the Twins at this meet.

Freshman Connor Hillicoss put up a good showing in the 100 -meters. He placed a close fourth in his heat with a time of 12.22. Hillicoss finished in 17thplace overall. 

Sophomore Nicholas Funk competed in the 1500-meters for the fifth time this season. He finished the race with a time of 5:38. That is just seconds off his personal best. Funk finished in 37th place overall.

Sophomore Riley Werner ran her best times of the season at the Bronco Classic. First up was the 1500-meters. Werner finished with a time of 6:10. This put her in 21st place overall. Next, she competed in the 800-meters. She put up a season best time of 2:52 to win her section. Overall, Werner placed 14th.

Freshman Paige Novack also improved upon her best time on the season. She competed in the 800-meters and finished with a time of 4:08. This was nearly 10 seconds faster than her previous best. Novack finished in 23rd place overall.

Lots of improvements for the Track team as they near the Region III Championship meet. The Twins will compete once more before that at the Cortland Classic. The Cortland Classic will take place April 19th and 20th at SUNY Cortland.
