Beach Qualifies for National Meet as Track Competes at Fitchburg

The Twins track and field teams traveled to Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts for their third outdoor meet of the season. It was a beautiful day as the Twins all posted good results.

The biggest story out of this meet was Freshman Adam Beach's effort in the 800-meter race. Competing in the fast heat of the event, Beach finished in fourth place overall to gain five points for the Twins. He posted his fasted time of the year with a 2:04.38.  This time qualifies him for the NJCAA Division III National Meet taking place in May. Beach also competed in the 400-meter race, finishing in 15th place with a time of 55.65.

Sophomore Nicholas Funk was the lone competitor in the 1500-meter race for the Twins this meet. Funk finished just shy of his personal best with a time of 5:41. He finished in 12th place in his heat.

Freshman Connor Hillicoss competed in both the 100-meter and 200-meter race at Fitchburg. First up was the 100-meter race. He finished with a time of 12.50 in the event and placed 28th overall. Next up was the 200-meter race. Hillicoss ran a good time of 25.03 in the 200 and finished in 23rd place overall.

Freshman Paige Novack was the lone competitor for the Twins women's team. She competed in just the 800 meter race. She crushed her time from the previous meet by almost 15 seconds. Novack finished with a time of 4:17 in the 800. This put her in 35th place overall.

The Twins will be back in action after a rest week. They will travel to SUNY Cortland for a two day meet April 19th and 20th.
