Twins Rally for 6-1 Win Over Word of Life

The Twins took on Word of Life Bible Institute in some women's soccer action on Wednesday. The Twins had lost their last eight heading into this game. They looked to get one back on Wednesday.

The game opened with an early goal from the Word of Life Huskies to put the Twins in a hole to start the game. They struck right back however to tie the game back up at one with an unassisted goal from Freshman Maggie Ryan. Just two minutes later, the Twins would take a 2-1 lead with another goal from Maggie Ryan. Freshman Jenna Lashua picked up the assist. The Twins were up at halftime, 2-1. The second half opened with another quick goal from the Twin's Maggie Ryan. Another goal from Jenna Lashua put the Twins in the driver seat with a 4-1 lead. Sophomores Katherine Christman and Keegan Deyo each added a goal to give the Twins the victory, 6-1.

Freshman Maggie Ryan scored the teams first hat trick of the season. Ryan is leading the Twins in scoring with seven goals this season. Freshman Jenna Lashua had a big game with a goal and an assist. Sophomore Katherine Christman scored her second goal of the season. Sophomore goalkeeper Keegan Deyo saved three of the four shots that came her way in net. She came out to play offense in the second half and scored her second goal of the season. Freshman Jessica Steinke relieved Deyo in goal in the second half. She stopped all four shots that came her way.

The Twins will look to pick up another win when they take on SUNY Adirondack in their next contest. That game will take place at SUNY Adirondack October 14th with a 2 pm start time.
