Twins Fall Just Short Against Saints

The Twins women's soccer team recently faced off against the North Country Community College Saints. With losses in their last six, the Twins have really struggled of late. The Saints came into this one with an 8-3-1 record on the season.

The Twins fought hard to keep the Saints off the board despite a high volume of shots. In the 13th minute, the Saints struck first with the early goal. The Twins continued to fight off the 15 shots from the Saints in the first half. With just a minute to go in the first half, the Twins struck with a goal of their own. Freshman Chandler Hoose scored on the assist from freshman Jenna Lashua. The Twins went into halftime tied 1-1.

The Saints continued to fire shots on goal in the second half. About halfway through the half, the Saints got the goal they were looking for to take the lead, 2-1. The Twins picked up the pace, firing shots downfield looking for any opportunity. The Twins ultimately would fall to the Saints by a final score of, 2-1.

Sophomore Keegan Deyo was once again incredible in net for the Twins. Deyo saved 30 of the 32 shots on goal. Freshman Chandler Hoose scored the Twins lone goal in the 44th minute. That's her first goal of the season. Freshman Jenna Lashua picked up the assist, her first on the season.

The Twins will be back in action with an upcoming home game. Tuesday October 1st the Twins will take on nearby rivals, Hudson Valley Community College, at home. This game will begin at 4pm.
