Twins Finish Regular Season

The Twins basketball teams finished off the regular season at home on Saturday.  Pre-game ceremonies were held, celebrating sophomores that will be leaving the team.  After the ceremony, the Twins got set to take on Fulton-Montgomery Community College.

The Twins took on the Fulton-Montgomery Community College Raiders in Mountain Valley Conference action Saturday.  The women's game was of high importance going into it.  With a win in this game the Twins would capture the #1 seed going into the Region III playoffs.  Both teams got off to a slow start.  The Twins struggled to shoot the ball but had a one-point lead going into halftime, 28 – 27.  Poor shooting continued to plague the Twins in the third quarter and put them in a hole, 53 – 35.  They struck with a huge fourth quarter to mount a comeback that would fall just short.  The Twins ultimately fell to the Raiders, 72 – 68.  Freshman Daniella Weinschreider led the Twins in scoring with 16 points and four rebounds.  Freshman Casiris Ruiz scored 12 points with six rebounds and six assists. Sophomore All'aha Albright scored seven points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

This marks the end of the regular season for the Twins.  They finish the regular season with an excellent 23-3 record.  The Twins will battle in the first round of the Region III playoffs.  That game will take place at home Tuesday February 27th.  The game is set to tip-off at 6 pm.
