Women's Basketball Celebrates
National Ranking Given to Women's Basketball

The coaches know it.  The team knows it.  Columbia-Greene CC knows it - and now the nation knows it too.  Columbia-Greene women's basketball is something special.  The Twins women rocketed to their first-ever NJCAA Division III national poll listing on February 21st.  A fifth place ranking has been bestowed to a powerhouse team about to wrap up their last week of regular season play.

After chasing the elusive poll ranking for months, the team cracked the top-10, and is the welcomed news that these women have been waiting for all season long.

Not only are the Twins recognized as one the best women's basketball teams across the country, the poll ranking was released on the same date of All-Conference selections.

Sophomore phenom Tanisha Edge was named Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year and is a 1st Team selection.  Joining Edge on the list is All'aha Albright, named to the 2nd Team All-Conference, while 3rd Team All-Conference selections include newcomers Casiris Ruiz and Daniella Weinschreider.

The team also features the fierce and competitive contributions of Britney Brazela, Stacey Cherestal, Amira FurtadoAnyla Harper, Shayna Ostrowsky, and Tori Popp.

With strong play from everyone, C-GCC women hold spots on various regional and national statistical categories.

Playoffs begin on February 27th, and the Twins have clinched home court advantage to start the post-season.
