Twins Get Fifth Straight Behind Weinschreider’s 27 points

The Twins basketball teams traveled to Herkimer County to take on the Herkimer College Generals in a Mountain Valley Conference matchup Saturday.  This is the second and final matchup between these two teams in the regular season. 

The Twins women's basketball team cruised to victory over the Generals in the first meeting this season.  They looked to do that again and extend their win streak to five games.  The Twins dominated the first quarter, scoring 34 points.  This gave the Twins a commanding lead.  They went into halftime with a comfortable lead, 56 – 28.  The Twins cruised to victory in the second half to pick up their fifth win in a row.  Leading the Twins in scoring was Freshman Daniella Weinschreider with 27 points and four rebounds. Sophomore All'aha Albright once again reached a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.  This is Albrights third double-double of the season.  Sophomore Tori Popp achieved her first double-double in this contest.  Popp scored 10 points and grabbed a season high 10 rebounds.  Sophomore Tanisha Edge scored 16 points with four rebounds and three assists. 

This Twins will be put to the test February 20th when they take on the Mohawk Valley Community College Hawks at home.  The Hawks are the top team in the region with the Twins right behind them in second place.  The women's team will kick things off at 5 pm with the men's game to follow at 7 pm.
