Teammates Share Regional Honors

Two members of the Twins women's basketball team are sharing Region III Athlete of the Week honors.  Teammates Daniella Weinschreider and Tanisha Edge share the honors for this past week.  The Twins had two games last week and came out with victories in both thanks to these athletes.

Freshman Daniella Weinschreider had two of her best performances of the season last week. This earned her athlete of the week honors for the first time.  Going up against Clinton Community College, Weinschreider came off the bench to score 22 points.  She led the Twins in scoring this game.  The next day, Weinschreider came off the bench once again to score 15 points against North Country Community College.  All her points in this one came from behind the three-point line with five made three-pointers.  She was second on the team in scoring that game.  Last week Weinschreider averaged 18.5 points per game.

Tanisha Edge earned the honor for the fourth time this season.  She earned it after having two high scoring games last week and leading the Twins to victory.  Against Clinton Community College Edge scored 21 points.  She came very close to achieving a double-double as she had nine steals, six assists, and seven rebounds.  The next day the Twins took on North Country Community College.  Edge once again had a high scoring game with 25 points scored.  She proved she could do it all as she also finished with eight assists, six rebounds, and four steals. She led the team in scoring in this one.
