Twins Defeat Hudson Valley with Huge Third Quarter

The Twins women's basketball team took on the Hudson Valley Community College Vikings for the second time this season.  The first time, the Twins cruised to an 84 – 69 victory.  This matchup began with an early lead for the Twins in the first quarter.  A tight second quarter kept the game close as the Twins led 30 – 26 going into halftime.  The Twins seemed to want to put the game away when they came out for the second half.  An incredible 33 points scored for the Twins in the third quarter propelled them to a commanding lead, 63 – 43.  They cruised with the lead through the fourth quarter to defeat the Vikings, 76 – 57. This win keeps the Twins in the race for second place in region III.  Freshman Anyla Harper had a big game with 23 points scored and nine rebounds.  She shot a high 66% from three-point range, making six total threes.  Sophomore Tanisha Edge had another impressive game despite shooting only 38% from the field.  Edge scored 12 points and had nine assists, six rebounds, and four steals.  Sophomore All'aha Albright scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds. 

 

The Twins will take on the Herkimer College Generals in their next matchup.  That game will take place at Herkimer College on February 17th.  The women's game will begin at 1 pm and the men's game will start at 3 pm.
