The Mountain Valley Conference recently announced their All-Conference team for the 2018 season. Two Twins were named to the All-Conference team. The Twins softball team was also announced as the official runners-up in the Mountain Valley Conference this season. One Twin was also named to the NJCAA Region III All-Region Team.
Freshman Baylee Cox and Kaylee Hoffman were both named to the Mountain Valley Conference All-Conference Team. Baylee Cox is named to the all-conference team as a short stop. Cox led the Twins in batting with a .389 batting average and 42 total hits this past season. On the offensive side of the ball she drove in 24 runs and hit four home runs as the Twins leadoff hitter. On the defensive side she was the Twins go-to short stop. She proved she belonged their as she achieved a .929 fielding percentage.
Fellow freshman Kaylee Hoffman was also named to Mountain Valley Conference All-Conference team. Hoffman was also voted onto the NJCAA Region III Second Team All-Region. She was voted in as an outfielder. These accolades come after Hoffman had a stellar season with the Twins. Hoffman finished the season with a .352 batting average and seven total home runs. All those home runs rank her sixth in the region in that category. She batted in 33 runs this season and has a slugging percentage of .648. She was a trustworthy player in the outfield as well. Hoffman recorded a .971 fielding percentage and committed just one error over the course of the season.
Both Baylee Cox and Kaylee Hoffman had hard fought seasons for the Twins. Luckily for the Twins, both players plan on return next year for their sophomore seasons. We are excited to see what is in store for the Twins next season. Below is a full list of conference and regional teams.
