Softball Recognizes Graduating Sophomores at Last Home Game

The Twins softball team played their last home game of their season yesterday when they took on Fulton-Montgomery Community College.  Prior to the game starting, the Twins celebrated their graduating sophomores.  Four players will be leaving the Twins after this season.  Graduating are players Catherine Gomm, Rachel Nielsen, Tori Popp, & Lauren Bowes.  Each were recognized for their commitment to the team. 

Once the pre-game ceremonies concluded, it was game time.  The Twins come into this one after a tough series split with SUNY Adirondack the day before.  The Twins got off to an early jump in game one and didn't look back as they get the win, 12 – 1.  Freshman Kaylee Hoffman hit a triple and drove in three runs.  Rachel Nielsen got the win on the mound and picked up a single and a double to drive in two runs.  Sophomore Catherine Gomm hit two singles and drove in a run. 

The Twins continued their dominance in game two of the double-header.  They drove in 14 runs to dominate Fulton-Montgomery.  The Twins win in five innings, 14 – 0.  Freshman Baylee Cox had two singles and batted in two runs.  Freshman Justine Albin had two singles and picked up four runs batted in.  Sophomore Tori Popp had a single and two runs batted in.  Freshman Jaclyn Gehring had a double and a single to drive in two runs. 

The Twins will hit the road for their last games of the regular season.  They will travel to Erie Community College Saturday May 5th to take on the Kats.  The first game of the double-header is set to begin at 2 pm.
