Track Opens Season at Cornell University

The Twins track & field team traveled to Cornell University in Ithaca, NY to compete for the first time this season.  They traveled to compete in the Finger Lakes Runners Club February indoor meet. This is the only indoor meet the Twins will compete in this season.

Good times all around as the Twins enjoyed great success at this meet. Freshman Adam Beachshowed off his speed in the 800 meters and the mile. Beach finished with a time of 2:06 in the fast heat to earn 3rd place overall in the 800 meters. He later ran the mile and finished with a time of 4:54. This was good enough for 13th place overall.

Sophomore Nicholas Funk competed in two events as well. Funk ran in the 3K and the mile. The first race of the day was the 3K.  He finished in 12 minutes and 13 seconds which was good enough for 34th place overall. This was a personal record for him.  Funk later competed in the mile. He finished with a time of  6:14 which was also a personal record. 

Freshman Connor Hillicoss was the lone sprinter for the Twins at this meet. He was set to compete in the fast heat of the 200 meters. He finished in third place overall with a time of 25.49.

Sophomore Riley Werner was the only Twins women's track representative at this meet. She competed in the 800 meters. She finished with a time of 3:03 to start her season. This put her at 17th place among the female competitors.

There is no where to go but up now that Twins track & field has begun their season.  The Twins next meet wont come till March 23rd. They will travel to St. Joseph's College on Long Island to compete in the St. Joseph's Spring Opener.
