Twins Compete at Capital District Classic

The Twins track & field teams traveled to RPI to compete in the Capital District Classic.  Teams from around the capital region came out to compete on the rainy day.

Freshman Riley Werner competed in the highly contested 1500-meter race.  She recorded her top time of the season in the event last weekend at the Cortland Classic.  The weather wasn't as nice for this one as the rain and wind was in full effect.  Werner finished 12th in her heat of the 1500-meters with a time of 6 minutes and 8 seconds.  She came within 17 seconds of her best this season.

Freshman Nicholas Funk competed in the men's 1500-meter race.  Funk also recorded his top time of the season in the event at the Cortland Classic.  He would battle in the rain and wind to come in 10th place in his heat.  He recorded a time of 5 minutes and 46 seconds in this one.  Just three seconds off his personal best in the 1500-meters.

The Twins will look to have peak performances when they travel to Herkimer Community College to compete in the NJCAA Region III Championships.  The meet will begin at 10 am on Saturday May 5th
