Track Takes on the Wesleyan Spring Invitational

The Twin's track and field team traveled to Wesleyan University for their last indoor meet of the season. This is the teams second meet of the season and they will prepare for outdoor track starting next week. 

The women's team kicked things off with Riley Werner competing in the women's 800 meters.  The freshman ran a tightly contested heat and led for most of the race.  She finished third in her heat of the 800 meters and 23rd overall in the event.  Werner finished with a fast time of two minutes and fifty-three seconds.  Sophomore Sabra Simon represented the women's track team in the 200-meter race.  Simon got a good start and cruised to a new personal record of 33.48 seconds.  This is down nearly two seconds from her first race of the season.  Simon finished third in her heat. 

Freshman Nicholas Funk competed for the Twin's men's track team in the 3,000-meter race.  Funk finished 10th in the event.  He finished with a time of 12 minutes and 35 seconds. 

The Twins will battle once again when they travel to Ramapo College.  This will be their first outdoor meet of the season.  The Ramapo College Invitational will take place on Saturday March 31st.  Running events begin at 10 am.
