Twins Lose Third Straight

The Twins men's basketball team played their last home game of the semester on Sunday November 24th. They took on the Jefferson Community College Cannoneers. The Twins have lost their last two games and hold a 4-4 record this season. The Cannoneers were 5-3 heading into this contest with wins in their last four. Jefferson is riding high after upsetting the #6 ranked Herkimer Generals.

The Twins took the lead right away with a quick score off the tip-off. There was a lot of back and forth scoring to open the game. Each team held the lead at some point in the half. However, the Cannoneers would go on a run to take the lead into halftime, 47-40. The Twins battled back in the second half with a high-powered push on offense. They would once again take the lead halfway through the half, 67-64. This would not last long though with the Cannoneers getting the lead right back. Despite a late push from the Twins, they fell to the Cannoneers 87-83.

Four twins scored in the double digits. Sophomore Kaijah Rodgers reached his first triple double. He scored 11 points, had 13 assists, and grabbed 10 rebounds. This is the first triple-double recorded by a Twins player this season. Leading the scoring was freshman Rande Harper with 20 points, seven assists, and eight rebounds. Sophomore Myles Ukoh reached a double-double scoring 17 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Sophomore Cameron Thomas once again reached a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The Twins have lost three straight games. They will look to get back on track after the thanksgiving break. They will take on the Schenectady County Royals for the second time this season on December 3rd. This game will take place at the Royals home court with a 5 pm tip-off. The last time these two teams met, the Twins cruised to victory 100-71.
