Twins Split Weekend Road Games

The Twins men's basketball team took their game on the road for the first time this season. They first traveled to Cayuga Community College to take on the Spartans Saturday November 16th. The Spartans came into this game with a 2-1 record, having lost to Hudson Valley early in the season.

Cayuga took control early in the first half. The Twins would battle back to make it a one-point game with three minutes remaining in the half but ultimately trailed at halftime, 57-48. The Twins came into the second half in a nine-point hole. They quickly fought back, tying it up at 65 early in the half. They scored a quick five points to take control of the game 70-65. The Twins were able to hold that lead into the final seconds to take home the win.

Coming out hot was Freshman Rande Harper scoring 39 points with seven assists and six steals to lead the Twins. Sophomore Myles Ukoh had another great game scoring 24 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks. Sophomore Kaijah Rodgers had one of his best games in a Twins uniform scoring 19 points and dishing out 13 assists.

The next day, the Twins prepared to take on the Onondaga Community College Lazers. The Lazers held a 4-1 record heading into this one with wins in their last four. The Twins were quickly behind as Onondaga took the lead. The Twins struggled to find their rhythm as they went into halftime down, 55-33. Another tough half for the Twins followed as they scored just 32 points in the second half. The Twins fell to the Lazers by a final score of 112-65.

The Twins struggled in this one making just 37% of their shots. Sophomore Myles Ukoh led the team by reaching another double-double. Ukoh scored 13 points and added 11 assists and eight rebounds. Sophomore Isaac McIntosh was one of the Twins better shooters going 6-11 for 13 points. Sophomore Cameron Thomas scored eight points with six rebounds.

The Twins look to get back on track when they play later this week. Thursday November 21st at 7pm the Twins will be on the road to take on the SUNY Sullivan Generals. After that the Twins will be back home for a matchup against Jefferson Community College Sunday November 24th.
