Twins Season Ends with Sub-Regional Matchup

Hudson, NY - The Twins were all set to take on the Herkimer College Generals in their first playoff appearance since 2015.  The Generals came into this game having finished the season with just one loss. They were riding a 22-game win streak coming into the playoffs. They took the #1 seed in the Region III tournament. The Twins have struggled of late losing four of their last five games to end the regular season. They would take the #8 seed in the Region III tournament.

The Twins struggled from the field shooting just 37.9% on 58 shots. The Generals would take over the game in the first half. The Twins were in a hole at halftime, 46-29. The Twins continued to struggle shooting the ball in the second half.  The Twins ultimately fall to the Generals in the sub-regional matchup, 91-64. 

The scoring was spread out for the Twins with four players scoring in the double digits. Leading the way was Cameron Thomas with 12 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore Michael Alert finished with 11 points and five assists. Both Jihadu Brunner-Brown and Daniel Folds added 10 points.

This game ends the season for the Twins. They finish with a 13-15 overall record on the season.  Sophomore Jihadu Brunner-Brown led the team in scoring this season with 19.9 points per game. This puts him in the top ten in the region in scoring. Michael Alert finished the season with 5.8 assists per game. This was good enough to place him in the top five in the region. Anthony Diaz also finished at the top of the stats sheet. Diaz was ranked second in the region in three-point percentage at 45.9%.
