Twins Fall at #3 Ranked Hawks

The Twins traveled to take on the Mohawk Valley Community College Hawks last night. The Hawks come into this game at #3 in the most recent NJCAA rankings. Their last game came when they crushed SUNY Adirondack to get their 18th win of the season. The Twins came into this one off a tough loss on the road to Tompkins Cortland Community College. The Twins got off to a slow start that allowed the Hawks to take an early 11-2 lead. They would not be forgotten however as their scoring picked up.  The Twins would bring it to within one point, 19-18, about halfway through the first half. Very little scoring from the Twins held them back as the Hawks went on a 21-0 run to lead at halftime, 52-26.  Sophomore Michael Alert was the leading scorer for the Twins in the first half with 11 points.

The Twins scoring picked up in the second half as they finished with 45 second half points.  Though the half was all Hawks the rest of the way.  The Twins ultimately fall to the #3 ranked Mohawk Valley Community College Hawks, 110-71.  The leading scorer for the Twins was Sophomore Michael Alert with 19 points on 50% shooting. Freshman Kevin Diaz dropped four three pointers to finish with 14 points. Sophomore Jihadu Brunner-Brown contributed 10 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in the loss.
