Twins Squeeze Past Royals

The Twins men's basketball team played the Schenectady County Community College Royals in mountain valley conference action Tuesday night. The Twins have lost their last three games and four of their last five. Their last game was against Jefferson Community College where they lost, 80-65.  The Royals came into this game with a 2-6 record. Their last game was a loss at the hands of Fulton Montgomery Community College.

The Twins had a lot of confidence going into this one having beaten the Royals earlier in the season at home, 77-70. The Twins came out firing shots and took the early lead in the road game. They would create a strong lead going into halftime with the score at 45-33.  The Royals were down but certainly not out as they came out in the second half with some fire. The Royals had a huge second half to bring the game within reach. It came down to a last second shot from the Royals that failed to find the bottom of the basket. The Twins win a close one, 93-90.

Leading scorer for the Twins was Sophomore Jihadu Brunner-Brown with a season high 31 points. Brunner-Brown also picked up seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Freshman Isaac McIntosh had another impressive game scoring 12 points and dishing out three assists. Freshman Kevin Diaz finished with 10 points in the victory. This was a great overall shooting effort for the Twins that have been struggling of late. The Twins shot 54.8% this game compared to the 45% that they are averaging this season. Their three-point shooting percentage was the second highest all season shooting 46.7% from the three-point line.

The Twins will be back home to finish off the year. Please join us Saturday December 8th at 2 pm as the Twins take on Finger Lakes Community College on their home court.
