Alert Leads Twins to Fourth Straight Win

The Twins traveled to SUNY Broome yesterday to play their first road game of the season against the Hornets. The Twins came into this game as one of the few teams in the region without a loss. They would look to keep the streak going when the took on the Hornets.  The Hornets came into this game with a 1 – 4 record, having picked up their first win just a few days before.

The Twins came out strong going up 10 – 0 before the Hornets scored their first basket.  SUNY Broome would eventually tie it back up in the first half.  Twins sophomore Michael Alert made the difference however with 20 first half points. This gave the Twins a comfortable lead going into halftime, 38 – 29.  The Twins came out firing shots in the second half. They would finish with 48 second half points to seal the victory, 88 – 72.

Sophomore Michael Alert led the Twins with 34 points, five rebounds and four assists. This was the sophomores highest scoring game so far as a Twin.  It was also the highest scoring game from any Twins player this season. Freshman Ezequiel De La Cruz recorded his highest scoring game this season as well with nine points, four rebounds, and one block. Jihadu Brunner-Brown and Myles Ukoh both added eight points.
