The Twins baseball team played their first home games of the season yesterday.  They took on conference foe SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves in double-header action.

Sophomore Hunter Goodacre was the starting pitcher for the Twins.  He ran into trouble in the first inning, giving up two runs.  The Twins struck right back in the bottom half of the inning.  After a walk, freshman Kevin Schrowang drove the ball to the outfield for a double that put runners on second and third.  A groundball by Tyler Drahushuk scored one run.  Then a single from Hunter Goodacre drove in another to tie it up, 2 – 2 after one inning.  The Timberwolves scored another two runs off Goodacre in the second.  The Twins struggled to score runners the rest of the game.  The Timberwolves ultimately topped the Twins in game one 6 – 2.  Hunter Goodacre pitched four innings and allowed five runs on six hits and struck out two.  Goodacre also went two for three at the place with a double and one run batted in.  Freshman Kevin Schrowang went one for three at the plate with a double. 

Freshman Sean Berry got the start in game two for the Twins.  The Twins ran into trouble in the first frame.  Berry allowed two runs in the first inning to give the Timberwolves the lead, 2 – 0.  The Twins struggled to get any offense going in this game.  They failed to record a hit in this one as the Twins end up falling to the Timberwolves, 12 – 0 in five innings.  Sean Berry pitched three innings allowing six runs and striking out two. 

The Twins will play the Timberwolves once again on Thursday April 12^th.  The Twins will travel to SUNY Adirondack for the double-header.  The first game starts at 2 pm.
