Twins Drop Games to Herkimer

Twin's baseball traveled to Herkimer to take on the Generals for the first time this season.  The starting pitcher for the Twins first game was freshman Hunter Goodacre.   The Twins struck first, thanks to a single by Mercury Mason that scored two runs to put them up 2 – 0.  The Generals would score one in the bottom of the second inning but the Twins would hold the lead 2 – 1.  Another run was added on for the Generals in the bottom of the fourth inning to make it a tied game.  The Twins ran into some trouble in the fifth inning as the Generals scored nine runs to take the lead.  The Twins ultimately fell by a score of 12 – 2 in six innings.  Mason went 1 – 2 at the plate with two RBI's.  Goodacre pitched 4 1/3 innings allowing five runs on five hits.

Mercury Mason got handed the ball to start the second game for the Twins.  Despite getting the early lead, Mason would run into trouble in the first allowing two runs.  This put the Twins down after one inning 2 – 1.  The Generals would continue their offensive success scoring eight runs in the second inning.  The rest of the game was much of the same as the Twins fall to the Herkimer Generals 19 – 4.  Joseph Dwy went 2 – 3 at the plate with two doubles.  Noah Ernst went 2 – 3 with two RBI's.

The Twins take to the diamond again at home Thursday April 20th at 2 pm and 4 pm as they face the Herkimer Generals.
