Twins Take Two Over Royals

The Twins battled against Schenectady County Community College at home Saturday.  Sophomore Noah Ernst was the starting pitcher for the Twins in the first game.  Good pitching dominated the first four innings for both teams.  Ernst ran into trouble in the top of the fifth when the Royals hit a single with the bases loaded to score two runs.  The Twins would answer right back in the bottom of the fifth.  Michael Bowes hit a single to score two runners.  Later in the inning, Collin Lynk scored two runs on a single with the bases loaded to put the Twins up 4 – 2 after five innings.  The Twins continued to hit in the bottom of the sixth.  Juan Trillo hit a triple to score one run.  Trillo then scored on an RBI single by Joseph Visconti to increase their lead to 6 – 2 over the Royals.  Ernst would continue his dominance on the mound as he finish the game allowing six hits and striking out seven to get the win.  Trillo went 2 – 3 at the plate with a triple and an RBI.  Bowes scored two RBI's on one hit.  Lynk went 1 -3 with two RBI's. 

 

Sophomore Michael Bowes would be the starting pitcher for the Twins in the second game.  He dominated on the mound for the Twins, pitching seven scoreless innings.  The Royals held the Twins hitless till the top of the fifth when Juan Trillo hit a double to score the runner from second. This put the Twins up 1 – 0 going into the sixth inning.  The Twins scored three more runs in the sixth on a string of hits to up the lead to 4 - 0.  The Twins would finish off the Royals in the top of the seventh to win 4 – 0.  Bowes gets the win allowing no runs and only two hits also struck out eight batters through seven innings pitched.  Trillo went 2 – 3 in the game with an RBI double and a stolen base.  Collin Lynk went 1 – 2 with an RBI single and a stolen base. 

 

The Twins will travel to Herkimer College to take on the Generals Tuesday April 18th at 2 pm and 4 pm.
